Aluminium Base
Extruded 6063 alloy is artificially aged, then coated with an anodised or powder coated finish.
Although both coatings are highly durable, the powder coated finish resists marking more readily than the anodised finish. If an anodised finish is required, a silver anodising is recommended over a coloured anodising as any marking that may occur will be less obvious and a desirable appearance is maintained for a longer period of time, particularly in commercial applications.

Insert
The anti-slip insert material is made from a rubberized compound which is stable under varying pressure and temperature situations, and will not move in the aluminium base. This material is resistant to degradation by petroleum products, acids and alkalis found in common household and industrial cleaners and is U.V stable, hence suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The self adhesive backing provides a permanent fixing of the insert to the base when adhered to a perfectly dry base surface. Once the insert is installed, it will not be affected by rain showers but may be affected by permanent submersion.

Cleaning
Cleaning is a simple process, which does not require stiff bristled brushes or harsh detergents to get into the highly textured surfaces of some nosing inserts.
A soft cloth & mild detergent is all that is needed to remove most marks, that will occur, from Protect-A-Tred’s range of nosings.
